Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Project Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operation aspects of ongoing projects and will serve as the liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Production Operations Project Management (OPM) will Review Status Of Projects And Budgets; Manages Schedules And Prepares Status Reports. Responsible For Production & System Related Project Management Oversight, Project Planning And Incorporation, Production Risk Mitigation Plans, Product Integration, And Implementation Of Tasks In Support Of Applicable / Assigned Integrated Product Team(S). Initiate, Integrate, And Implement Program Startup And Special Project Schedules. Understand Program Schedule Philosophies And Practice. Develop Internal And External Business Capability Assessments For Incorporation Of Program And Engineering Changes Into Dynamic Development / Product Environment. Determine, Optimize, And Negotiate Functional Schedule Implementation Plans. Lead And Coordinate Multi-Functional Project Teams Efforts Necessary To Ensure The Timely Implementation Of (1) Change Related Plans (2) Schedule Recovery Plans / Work Around Plans (3) Asset Rotation Plans (4) Site And Supplier Transition Project Plans Among Other Program Related Projects. Primarily Represent Production, Program Integration Team And Air Vehicle IPT In Change Mgmt. Process. Key Project Criteria Is To Plan, Negotiate, and Implement Tasks / Deliverables From A Non-Support (Out Of Position) To A Schedule Mitigation / Support Condition. Develop Mechanisms And Toolset For Monitoring Project Progress And For Intervention And Problem Solving With Project Managers, Functional Managers, And Clients. Some Travel May Be Required To Ensure Project Coordination, Management, And Project Completion. Assesses Project Issues And Develops Resolutions To Meet Productivity, Quality, And Client-Satisfaction Goals And Objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in Project Management/Program Execution, or 1 year experience in Project Management/Program Execution with a Master’s degree
- Microsoft Office suite experience required
- Ability to obtain Active Secret Clearance required
- Experience in Operations Mgmt., Project Mgmt., Mfg Eng., I.E. Skills, or PMI Certification preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field preferred along with an active Top Secret Clearance preferred
