After the Veteran’s Day ceremonies are over and done, most veterans would probably like one thing: A job. The unemployment rate for veterans continues to be a national disgrace. One industry has put a major focus on veteran employment in the past few years, though — and a new report shows progress. The franchising industry has made a concerted effort over the past several years to find employment for veterans, with some solid success. A report from the International Franchise Association prepared by the trade publication Franchise Business Review found the industry has employed 64,000 veterans and military spouses since the IFA launched its Operation Enduring Opportunity initiative in 2011.
