ERISS Corporation, an award-winning, woman-owned business serving workforce organizations for 20 years announced today that they are teaming up with REBOOT, a reverse boot camp program recognized by the White House and REBOOT’s Executive Director Maurice Wilson, as a Champion of Change.

“By combining our collective experience in workforce development, Veterans Transition, and jobs technology, we now have an ’end-to-end’ solution for helping Veterans transition successfully into the workforce and get the right job”, said Barbara Nyegaard, CEO of ERISS.

Veterans attend a three-week behavior based “reverse boot camp” covering:

  • early-stage cognitive-behavioral educational intervention, to help Veterans “re-boot” from military programming;
  • Helping Veterans transition successfully from the battle front to the home front;
  • Assisting Veterans in developing a successful reentry plan;
  • Minimizing the effects of stress associated with service;
  • Addressing social problems at their root cause;
  • Helping transfer military training to America’s labor force;
  • Creating an effective model that can be replicated nationally that complements existing services.

The ERISS services are introduced in week three of the workshop.
Using its proprietary employer outreach technology and its all new transferable skills system, ERISS enables the case manager/coach and the veteran to conduct in-depth transferable skills analysis, taking into account a Veteran’s functional capacities, interests and local labor market.  It is the only system of its kind that addresses and analyzes disabilities as they relate to finding the right job.  The ERISS employer outreach uncovers the hidden job market (which the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates at greater than 67% of job openings) and engages thousands of employers, targeting the employers who have openings that match the Veteran’s selected occupations. This method of placement assistance is far superior to responding to postings on job boards since the job leads that ERISS uncovers have a direct HR connection, and are much further down the process flow line of getting a job.

ERISS Corporation, based in San Diego California has served over 300 workforce boards, economic development agencies, vocational rehabilitation firms and colleges across the nation. Its labor market surveys, employer engagement and workforce technology have recently been deployed at Fort Bragg, NC, and the Fort Knox region in Kentucky. Its new O*Net based, Transferable Skills System is the only system in the nation that takes into account a person’s functional capacities, interests and current labor market information
when conducting career research.

NVTSI/REBOOT was launched by Retired Rear Admiral Ronne Froman and Retired  Master Chief Petty Officer Maurice Wilson in July 2010, in response to the increasing number of former service members needed assistance to adjust to the “real world.” The
primary concept of the program is to provide a “reverse boot camp” for Veterans
leaving the service to help them successfully reintegrate back into the civilian mode.  To date, nearly 500 service men and women have benefited from this program and data suggest a high level of success of the program.

REBOOT Workshops™ are available for Veterans, active duty personnel within twelve
months of separation and spouses.
