(IRVINE, CA) June 23, 2016 – The Habit Burger Grill and thousands of hungry fans in San Diego raised more than $11,000 to support National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. (NVTSI), also known as REBOOT, a non-profit that helps veterans transition back to civilian life. As a way to celebrate National Burger Month and to introduce its new San Diego-based catering truck, The Habit held fundraising events through San Diego County with 100% of the proceeds going to Reboot Workshops.

NVTSI has helped thousands of veterans make the challenging switch back to civilian life through workshops that focus on relearning civilian culture while using military skills to their advantage. The educational workshops build upon military training and experience while preparing for life after the military. Through their employer-focused initiative, Operation REBOOT, NVTSI will match veterans with more than 500 area businesses.

“REBOOT Workshops are all about helping veterans learn new habits. At REBOOT, we focus on taking the positive training from the military and adding back in the soft skills necessary for a better quality of life as a civilian. This financial support will allow us to offer another workshop this year, and we are very grateful to The Habit and the people of San Diego for their support,” said Maurice Wilson, president and executive director of NVTSI.

“At The Habit, better burgers are just the beginning as we serve the community. We appreciate the support of our San Diego fans and excited to know this effort will help Reboot serve even more veterans,” said Russ Bendel, CEO of the Habit Burger Grill.

The Habit Burger Grill opened its first San Diego location in 2011, and now operates nine restaurants in San Diego with three more planned to open in the area year. The new San Diego based catering truck offers the same high quality flame grilled burgers and full menu as the restaurants and can be booked for parties or events at https://www.habitburger.com/habit-truck/.
