NAVNET is a group of current & former military officers whose primary purpose is to assist each other in career transitions. They get together for breakfast on the third Friday of each month at Trellises Garden Grille in the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley. They start at 0700 and are usually out of there by 0815. Attendees can order from a special breakfast menu and pass the bill around for contributions when it comes. They’re a rather casual group so the uniform of the day is whatever you need to wear for the rest of your day.
They also maintain a Database with contact information for our 1,800+ members. They use this information to make personal contact with each other to gather information on specific companies, individual transition experiences, and the general job market conditions. They DON’T use it to shotgun resumes or to solicit any other types of business.
They also maintain an email distribution list to remind everyone of the monthly breakfast and to provide a revised copy of the spreadsheet. They also use it to distribute periodic job opportunities as they become visible.
