(San Diego, Calif.) August 22, 2016 – National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. (NVTSI), also known as REBOOT, a San Diego-based non-profit that helps veterans transition back to civilian life, is set to launch a veteran workforce development component of its highly successful REBOOT Workshop initiative in September called “OPERATION REBOOT ”.
OPERATION REBOOT — Is an employer-driven initiative to Reboot the lives & careers of local transitioning service members and veterans and promote employment in key priority industries.
By focusing on and resolving the key reintegration issues of veterans and the challenges employers face trying to hire them, OPERATION REBOOT will orchestrate a predictable talent pipeline from military service to employment in priority sectors through a coordinated training effort with other agencies.
In partnership with local colleges, and other training partners, the program will start by REBOOTing and re-classifying local transitioning service members/veterans, matching them with jobs in high job growth industry sectors, coordinating job training with local training providers, then placing them with local businesses on demand.
At the heart of the program is the REBOOT Workshop™ that has been designed to facilitate the successful reintegration of veterans and is a bold new approach to military-to-civilian transition that combines cognitive behavioral education with real-world career transitioning. The results to date have demonstrated that the REBOOT Workshop™ has proven to be a turning point in military-to-civilian transitioning as expected for over 1500 deserving military veterans and their spouses that have graduated. The REBOOT Workshop™ is the only known evidence-based reverse boot camp with a verified record of 97% success (in an independent study done by USD) and a 93% retention rate.
The goal of the program is to ultimately process 2000 to 2400 cohorts annually in Southern California to bolster local workforces while alleviating financial problems for veterans and their families.
Since 2010 NVTSI has helped thousands of veterans make the challenging switch back to civilian life through workshops that focus on relearning civilian culture while using military skills to their advantage. The educational workshops builds upon military training and experience while preparing for life after the military. OPERATION REBOOT will take the program one step further by providing veterans with job skills training in critical sectors and matching them with more than 500 area businesses.
